The HPSC has unveiled the exam calendar for exams scheduled from December 2023 to March 2024, providing the date for the HPSC HCS Recruitment 2024 Exam. The preliminary exam for HPSC HCS is scheduled for February 11, 2024, while the mains exam is set for March 30 and 31, 2024. Pre Exam Pattern
The HCS Prelims result will be determined by the scores obtained in the General Studies Paper, while the CSAT Paper is qualifying in nature, requiring candidates to secure a minimum of 33% marks. Negative marking of 0.25 will be applied for each incorrect answer. The exam will be conducted in offline mode with objective multiple-choice questions.

Mains Exam Pattern
Candidates, twelve times the number of vacancies, will be summoned to participate in the HPSC HCS Mains Examination. Each candidate must choose two optional subjects from a pool of 23 options. Interview
Candidates achieving marks equal to or exceeding the HCS cut-off will be summoned for the Personality Test/Interview by the HPSC. However, no candidate will be called for the HCS interview unless they secure at least 45% marks in the aggregate of all the main written question papers and 33% marks in the Hindi and English question papers. The number of candidates invited for the HCS Personality Test will be three times the number of vacancies advertised.
