PROMOTION OF SCIENCE EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

Admissibility of Scholarship:

  1. Scholarships are awarded to students who have taken admission in the first year of B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math/Integrated M.Sc./M.S. in specific science subjects.
  2. The scholarship is available for courses across India.

Eligibility:

  1. Students must have passed Class X and XII from a school in Haryana with a minimum of 80% marks for Haryana Board schools and 85% for other boards.
  2. Students from schools outside Haryana must produce a Haryana Residence Certificate.
  3. Certain prestigious national institutes’ students are exempt from this criterion.

Number of Scholarships:

  1. 250 scholarships are available up to the post-graduate level.
  2. Preference is given to girl students, higher language scores in 12th grade, and younger students in case of a tie.

Amount of Scholarships:

  1. Rs. 4000 per month for the 1st to 3rd year of the program.
  2. Rs. 6000 per month for the 4th to 5th years of the integrated program.
  3. Selected students also receive a mentorship grant.

Selection Criteria: Priority is given to students from prestigious National Institutes. For the remaining scholarships, merit is determined by 12th-grade scores. Additional 2% weightage is granted to students from rural schools.

Merit List: Based on 12th-grade performance (languages, best three subjects), additional weightage is given to students from non-elite rural schools.

Availing Research Mentorship: Scholars must undertake a research project under a mentor’s guidance. Expenses incurred for the project are reimbursed from the mentorship grant.

Continuation of Scholarship: Scholars must maintain a minimum 60% mark in each semester. Scholarships are paid over 12 months, in two installments, subject to academic performance. Compartment or scores below 60% lead to scholarship discontinuation.

POSE Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

  1. Recipients cannot avail of any other scholarship.
  2. Only online applications are accepted.
  3. Multiple applications are not allowed; ensure accuracy before submission.
  4. Selection is based on merit.
  5. Offers are provisional until documents are verified.
  6. Changes in colleges or subjects are allowed within the academic year.
  7. Scholarships are disbursed via NEFT/RTGS.
  8. Applicable to students in the 22 identified subjects.
  9. Only regular students are eligible.
  10. Indiscipline or unfair means will disqualify students.
  11. Self-attested copies of certificates from 10th onward must be uploaded.
  12. HSCSIT can alter the number of scholarships and the scheme.
  13. False statements result in scholarship cancellation and reimbursement.
  14. HSCSIT’s Secretary has the final decision in case of disputes.
  15. Sanctions will be issued after document verification.
